If you told me a few years ago that one of my favorite “social events” would involve a workout, a cold plunge, and a matcha in hand… I probably wouldn’t have believed you. But here we are. Alt Social has become my go-to for a weekend reset that somehow feels equal parts energizing and grounding. It’s the kind of place where you can move your body, take care of yourself, and still feel that buzz of being out and around people, just without the alcohol. Think fitness classes, recovery stations like massage, sauna, and cold plunge, and a lineup of brands that actually align with how you want to feel. It’s not just an event, it’s a whole vibe and honestly, it’s redefining what “going out” looks like for me.
There is a general admission ticket but for a small extra charge you can add on a fitness class. Options change every monthly event but it could be pilates, spin, boxing, barre, orange theory, yoga etc.
If you’re looking for a way to be social without centering everything around drinks, Alt Social has quickly become one of my favorite things happening around Orlando. What I love most is that it pops up in different locations across the Greater Orlando area, so every event feels a little different, new setting, new energy, but the same core vibe of wellness, connection, and fun.
My favorite so far has to be the one at The Cove at Lakefront. It took everything I already loved about Alt Social and added an extra layer of adventure, we got to paddle board in between workouts and recovery sessions, which made the whole experience feel like a mini wellness escape. It’s not every day you go from a fitness class straight onto the water, and that balance of movement and play is exactly what makes these events so special.
Another thing I’ve loved is discovering new brands along the way. I tried Slate Milk for the first time at one of the events and it quickly became a favorite, such an easy, high-protein option that actually tastes good. And after winning a few classes, I officially fell in love with Jetset Pilates. It pushed me in a new way and reminded me how fun it is to try something different in your routine.
The real treat is all the recovery options—it’s honestly what sets Alt Social apart. After a solid workout, you can reset with a quick massage by Massage Envy, take the plunge (literally) in the cold pools, or unwind in the sauna tents and just be for a minute. If you’re in the mood for something more elevated, there are even facials on site, which feels like the ultimate reward after moving your body.
They also bring in next-level wellness options like B12 shots and IV drips, so you can recharge from the inside out. It’s that perfect mix of fitness and self-care that makes you feel taken care of, not just worked out. Alt Social really understands that recovery isn’t an afterthought—it’s just as important as the workout itself, and honestly, it’s what keeps you coming back.
More than anything, Alt Social has become a go-to for me and my friends, a monthly way to get together in a space that feels aligned with how we want to live. It’s social, but intentional. Fun, but still rooted in wellness. And honestly, it’s refreshing to have something that proves you don’t need alcohol to have a really good time.
