Quaint little town north of Orlando and on the water. There are so many cute little local spots to explore.
Downtown
I love finding quaint downtowns that are filled with restaurants, shops and hidden gems. the area is very walkable and there is a lot of free street parking around. There is also a central square that is usually filled with vendors on the weekends.
Beer
There are so many cute local breweries in the area. If you love beer, enjoy a mini pub crawl! Start at Wop’s Hops, then Sanford Brewing, then Celery City, then Deviant Wolfe!
Celery City
I decided to checkout Celery City since it was in the area I was walking around and shopping. I enjoyed one of their sours. It was a great blend with hints of citrus. There is bar seating, high tops and outside picnic tables. There is a little sushi place attached if you want to grab food too.
Shopping
So many cool local shops here. There is also a lot of art influence so great unique options! I really loved Magpies. Cute jewelry, clothing, accessories, things for the house and unique gifts! They had a sale and I got so many things for under $20!
Street Art
I loved finding this mural on the wall in the alley next to Hollerbach’s near Magpies. There was also a super fun art project done late 2020 called Wings of Sanford and some of the mural wings are still up. See my post on that here.
Sanford Museum
There is a lot of history on this little city and the railroad. This museum is by donation so make sure to donate to keep them going! It is broken up into 3 rooms with various exhibits on the town, famous athletes from Sanford and lots of cool history facts.
Food
Henry’s Depot is such a cool food hall! Love this kind of concept! You can get a variety of options for the best meal! I started with Oak Flame Pizza and it was fantastic! I had the Floridian and I may already be dreaming of another! It's their take on the classic margherita with citrus infused ricotta, orange zest and baby tomatoes! The blend of the citrus flavors was a great pop! So fresh!
I made sure to leave room for The Greenery Creamery. They have both Dairy and Non-Dairy Selections of ice cream! I was going to do for the cookie monster but the girl told me about this chocolate and peanut butter flavor that had a limited run so I knew I had to try it before the season was over. I am so glad I did, it was the perfect sweet treat.
I can't wait to come back!
