Southern Hill Fams

It’s Fall Y’all! Even though the weather still doesn’t change up much here in Florida, I still enjoying putting on my plaid shirt, some boots and head outside for all things FALL!

The Farm

A family run business, Southern Hills Farm is currently run by the 4th generation of farmers. Southern Hill Farms has now become a destination within Clermont and the Greater Orlando.

Sunflowers

Try and get to the sunflower field first and early in the day if you can! It can get crowded and the pictures look amazing when no one is in the background. The field is beautiful and so many flowers! The sea of bright yellow throughout the fields is truly a magical sight to see. The harvest is spring and fall, during the U-pick events you can take home your favorite flowers. Pick up a pair of scissors for flower cutting and find the perfect home to take home in the bouquet bags. Flower are $2 each.

Blueberry Picking

There are 40 acres of blueberry bushes on the farm. The blueberries were solely commercially harvested until 2014, when they decided to open the farm for their community to enjoy. The blueberry harvest is from mid-March through May. You can come to the farm and pick your own blueberries. After the harvest you can still snag some Blueberry mimosas during the fall festival! I opted for the larger glass that comes with a commemorative mason jar to take home.

Food Options

On the weekends they bring in a variety of Food trucks. When I went I got the most amazing elote corn on the cob! There are usually 4-5 different options of food trucks and a covered pavilion with picnic tables to eat.

During the seasonal spring and fall u-pick seasons you can grab amazing SHF sweet treats like blueberry or peach cobbler and apple cider donuts. These desserts are worth the wait in long lines. Everything is freshly made using items grown on the farm.

Make sure to check them out throughout the various seasons! So much fun!
